Clearwater Planning Commission Mission Statement
The Clearwater Planning Commission is made up of five (5) community/area residents who are appointed by the City Council. The primary functions of the Planning Commission are as follows:
- To prepare and keep current the city's Comprehensive Plan for meeting present requirements and future needs of the City.
- To establish principles and policies for guiding action affecting development of the City.
- To prepare and recommend to the City Council ordinances, regulations, and other proposals promoting orderly development in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan.
- To determine whether specific proposed developments conform to the principles and requirements of the Comprehensive Plan and City Code.
- To keep the City Council and the general public informed and advised as to all planning and development matters.
- To conduct public hearings to gather information necessary for the drafting, establishment, and maintenance of the Comprehensive Plan and Subdivision/Zoning ordinances and regulations related to it.
- To perform other duties which may be lawfully assigned to it, or which may have bearing on the preparation or accomplishment of the Comprehensive Plan.
